ACCESSIBLE TOURIST ITINERARIES
The itineraries enable persons with reduced mobility (PRM) to get access to the « guided visits for all ». The current offer in visits concentrates on the hearing impaired and/or the physically impaired.
The visits that are presented here as an example are a part of a test project that aims the creation of circuits in which different categories of PRM are integrated into the more “classical” groups. (The offer will subsequently be completed by visits for the visually or intellectually impaired.)
The concept of « person with reduced mobility » is much more larger than the concept of « person with a handicap »: this concept refers to all persons having difficulties to move « normally ». Persons with reduced mobility represent 30 to 35 % of the population.
THE PARTNERS
Voir et Dire Bruxelles is a round table that gathers different cultural and thematic tourism associations : ’ARAU, Arkadia.be, Le Bus Bavard, Itinéraires and Pro Vélo. Every association has his own identity which enhances the round table.
Together, the five associations offer numerous qualitative guided thematic visits on reserved dates to the individuals from March to December and upon request, to groups during the entire year.
The season 2012 will start from March 2012, this will be published on our site.
With the support of the Minister-President of the Brussels Frenchspeaking Government (Cocof), in charge of Tourism, Christos Doulkeridis, AMT Concept (Accès et Mobilité pour Tous - Access and Mobility for All) has developed a project called « guided visits for all » in Brussels, in collaboration with ’ Voir et Dire Bruxelles ’ .
This project comes in addition to the traditional touristic offer which allows to appreciate the numerous cultural and leisure activities in Brussels.
We wish to give the opportunity to the PRM and their relatives to visit our magnificent Capital.
Remember that the promenades are possible upon request, contact the associations.
